On 1 – 31 July 2020, the Vietnamese Embassy in Jakarta and the Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi jointly organized a logo competition to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Indonesia (30 December 1955 – 30 December 2020).
The logo competition was held to raise awareness among the general public both in Vietnam and Indonesia about the diplomatic relations that have been nurtured and developed by generations of leaders and peoples of the two countries. The competition attracted 772 entries from all over Vietnam and Indonesia.
In this logo competition, participants are required to design a logo that demonstrates the 65 years of the diplomatic relations between the two countries as well as reflects Vietnam and Indonesia’s strategic partnership and cooperation. Logos should express creative, sophisticated, solemn and modern design styles with clear, harmonious colours and shapes, which are highly aesthetic, typical of Vietnam and Indonesia.
The Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi and the Vietnamese Embassy in Jakarta just jointly announced that the logo design of Tran Hoai Duc from Vietnam was chosen as the winner of the logo competition celebrating the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Vietnam.
The winner’s logo design is considered to meet the criteria and has a deep philosophy. The design depicts an innovative combination of two legendary birds: Garuda of Indonesia and Lạc bird of Vietnam. The birds are symbolic of the aspiration for peace and prosperity of the two nations.
Moreover, the number 65 is crafted like soaring wings of the two birds, moving forward.
Another interesting feature in the winning logo is the aspect of the Indonesian and Vietnamese flags symbolizing hope, warmth, sincerity, and energy in the two countries’ bilateral relations.
The style of the winning logo is smooth, harmonious and active, representing the friendship between Indonesia and Vietnam progresses with time and outward-looking towards the common goal of shared peace, harmony, and prosperity.
