Vietnamese Community Celebrates the International Migrants Day in Singapore
This year, Singapore's Ministry of Manpower organized a celebration of International Migrants Day (December 18) on December 17 in Singapore. More than 10,000 people participated in the event. Together with its partners, Singapore's Ministry of Manpower dedicated the event to recognize and raise awareness of the contribution of the immigrant workforce to Singapore's development.
This is the second time that the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Singapore (VNAS) has been invited to participate in activities celebrating this year's International Immigrants Day in Singapore.
Following the success of the first time, VNAS has made positive and practical contributions, which were highly appreciated by the event organizers.
In particular, VNAS not only organized a booth to introduce Vietnamese culture and cuisine to international friends but also awarded 1,000 gifts including necessities to immigrant workers. The gift included ST25 rice and noodles packages and necessities for migrant workers.
From December 7-16, the Vietnamese Community Liaison Committee also organized a gift-giving activity of 2kg ST25 rice and other necessities for Vietnamese workers working in Singapore. In total, nearly 250 gift bags and 500kg of ST25 rice were given to Vietnamese workers.
