Speaking at the event's opening, Consul General Nguyen Thanh Tung highly commended the contributions and dedication of VASEA, VACEO, and the Vietnamese community in Australia toward their homeland and the Vietnam-Australia relationship. The Consul General expressed hope that, in the coming time, VASEA and VACEO would introduce more initiatives, programs, and activities to preserve, promote, and showcase Vietnamese culture while continuing to contribute to cultural exchange and fostering Vietnam-Australia cooperation.
Professor Nghiem Duc Long, president of VASEA and a faculty member at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), shared his enthusiasm, stating that 2024 had been a remarkable and successful journey for VASEA. The association implemented various practical activities to introduce and transfer scientific and technological advancements and modern economic management models to Vietnam, contributing to the strategic relationship between Australia and Vietnam.
In 2024, during his official visit to Australia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met directly with VASEA, dedicating significant time to consulting, and offering strategic guidance for the association’s activities. He also assigned specific tasks for the attending ministers to continue supporting VASEA's initiatives.
According to Professor Nghiem Duc Long, VASEA's contributions to Vietnam focus on critical fields such as green economy, clean and sustainable energy, digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and semiconductor industries, achieving initial tangible results. He likened VASEA's efforts to a network of tree roots, both spreading influence within the community and nourishing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Australia and Vietnam. This enduring impact explains the consistent support VASEA receives from diplomatic agencies and both governments.

Professor Long hopes that 2025 will bring even greater opportunities for VASEA to serve the community and fulfill its mission of fostering professional development while providing its members with an ecosystem and opportunities to advance Vietnam-Australia collaboration.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Viet Ha, executive director of VACEO, expressed joy over the organization’s mission as a cultural bridge between Vietnam and Australia. VACEO focuses on preserving, developing, and sharing Vietnamese traditional music and culture while promoting cultural exchange with Australia’s multicultural communities, including its indigenous culture.
In 2024, VACEO excelled in its efforts, notably enhancing the Vietnam-Australia relationship and elevating Vietnam's image among Australians and other ethnic communities. The organization successfully hosted the Vietsoul 2 cultural event, showcasing Vietnam's cultural beauty to Australian audiences, and collaborated effectively with Australian artists and organizations to foster multicultural understanding.
Looking ahead to 2025, Nguyen Thi Viet Ha revealed plans to expand cultural exchange programs and increase community engagement, with preparations underway for the launch of Vietsoul 3. This program aims to highlight the vibrant culture of southern Vietnam and the Mekong Delta.
The association also plans to initiate artist recruitment programs, both within and beyond the community, to promote multicultural exchange among Vietnamese and Australian artists and musicians. Additionally, VACEO will work closely with other community associations to strengthen its mission of preserving and promoting traditional Vietnamese culture.
