The International Fair of Metz is one of three largest annual fairs in France. The program brings together thousands of companies and trademarks of Grand-Est, an administrative region in northeastern France, with the population of three million.
This year, the fair lasts from September 27 to October 10.
According to Nghiem Xuan Dong, Vice Director of the Vietnamese Cultural Center in France, Vietnamese artists are performing Cheo (traditional opera) and water puppet show at the event. In addition, Vietnam also brings to the festival movies, paintings exhibition, the demonstrations of ‘to he’ (folk toy figurines made from rice powder) and calligraphy.
Jean Luc Bohl, first Vice President of the Grand-Est region, for his part, said Vietnam was invited to this year’s event to introduce the French people to its history, culture, and potential for future cooperation between the two countries, especially in economics.
Besides cultural activities, Vietnam will hold a roundtable discussion on trade promotion with France on October 4.
