In a recent interview with the The World and Viet Nam Report, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Duc Ton talked about his the passion for science and the dedication of knowledge to both peoples, in order to become a bridge connecting the friendship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.

Expressing his deep gratitude to the Kazakh government for recognizing his contributions, Dr. Ton considers this an honor for individuals and the Vietnamese community living and working in Kazakhstan. This recognition is not only a motivation for him to continue to make efforts to contribute but also a testament to the increasingly close friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.

Since childhood, he has been passionate about Mathematics and Physics, winning the Bac Ninh provincial award. Graduating from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, he realized that he still had a desire to explore more, to delve deeper into the world of knowledge. From then on, he decided to study for a master's degree in Vietnam and a doctorate in Korea. He realized that his passion for academia is a long-term goal.

Fortunately, he was invited to become a Professor at Nazarbayev University, and he continued to pursue his passion for science and contribute to education in Kazakhstan. This is not only an important milestone in his career, but also a place where he can continue to deepen his research, and contribute to education and in Kazakhstan.

As a Vietnamese in Kazakhstan, he clearly feels his dual responsibility, therefore, he tries to contribute to the locality through research and teaching, and at the same time show gratitude to the country that has helped me develop my career.

On the other hand, I also want to become a bridge connecting the friendship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan, through research activities, academic exchange programs and support for Vietnamese students, to deepen bilateral cooperation in science, technology and education.

In 2024, the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Kazakhstan was established and he were honored to be elected as the president of the association. On May 5, on behalf of the association, he delivered a speech welcoming General Secretary To Lam during his meeting with the Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan.

As General Secretary To Lam once emphasized, science and technology are important in the "era of the nation's rise" and all Vietnamese will take that as a guideline, continuing to make efforts to contribute to the development of the homeland.
