Officers of the Vietnamese Embassy in South Africa recently visited the Kingdom of Lesotho and carried out meaningful charitable activities. The trip is part of the annual activities of the Association of Diplomats’ Spouses in South Africa.

From March 24 to 29, the Vietnamese delegates led by spouse of Vietnamese Ambassador to South Africa, Trinh Minh Hang, visited and presented gifts to three schools in disadvantaged area of Lesotho. This was also the first time the Vietnamese diplomats in South Africa had taken part in charity activities in Lesotho,

Besides necessities like dried food, the Vietnamese delegates brought to the needy students various gifts for educational use, including wool to knit clothes, materials to craft mosaic picture and books.

During the visit, the Vietnamese delegates also took part in various cultural exchange in three schools, introducing to the teachers and students about the people, the landscape of Vietnam, sharing with them Vietnamese folk talkes, as well as listened to interesting stories told by local students.

Talking about the trip to Lesotho, spouse of Vietnamese Ambassador to South Africa, Trinh Minh Hang said, she was touched by seeing how the students had overcome countless obstacles to go to school everyday. The little kids even had to walk a long way, crossing the jungle to reach schools.

The charitable trip conveyed the sincere care of the Vietnamese people, which has left great impression on not only the beneficiaries, but also other delegates in the team./.
