Immediately after the incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam directed the Vietnamese Embassy to Poland to send a working group to the place urgently, and at the same time coordinate closely with local authorities and with The Vietnamese Association in Poland to grasp the situation, encourage and visit Vietnamese people, and quickly deploy protection of civilians.
The Vietnamese Embassy to Poland posted a hotline for citizens' protection to receive information from overseas Vietnamese, and support them in working with local authorities, the Center Management Board, fire prevention and fighting forces, and the insurance agency to minimize the consequences of the fire.
The Embassy also provided great support to quickly re-issue new documents for those who lost their paperwork in the fire and requested Polish authorities to urgently investigate the cause of the fire and fully ensure the rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens.
"The entire shopping center area at 44 Marywilska, Warsaw, Poland, was almost destroyed by fire," the Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Poland, Tran Tuan Anh said.
The Vietnamese Association in Poland is actively coordinating with the Embassy to obtain information, encourage and support people whose stalls were damaged in the fire, and mobilize donations for initial support.
According to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Poland, about 10 minutes after the alarm, the first fire team arrived at the scene. However, due to the large number of goods, including garments, and dry weather, the fire spread quickly, and almost the entire shopping center was destroyed by fire. Initial preliminary information showed that there was no loss of life, but almost all property was destroyed by fire.
