The official export of Ong Tho condensed milk to China is an optimistic signal of Vinamilk and Vietnam's dairy industry in general, despite many obstacles caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2019, China imported 39.43 million tons of milk, including about 750,000 tons of fresh milk and about 650,000 tons of milk powder.
Therefore, the dairy industry aims to export milk to China to increase from USD 120 million to USD 300 million by 2020, reported by Investment News.
With over 1.4 billion people, China is a world leader in importing milk. According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, Chinese demand for milk will keep rising.
