The viral success of “Number Song” and So Y Tiet, in particular, might stem from the simple, natural concept. The melody, lyrics, choreography and the way So Y Tiet sing the song naturally capture the hearts of viewers without even trying.

It’s this simple way of life, positive mindset that probably earns So Y Tiet the nomination as Inspirational Character of 2020 TikTok Awards.

So Y Tiet, 32, was born and raised in a small village in the southern province of Binh Dinh. His parents passed away since he was small, leaving him alone at the orphanage, making a livelihood all by himself early in life.

The young man was twice at the dead door with his severe pneumonia.Growing up with such a huge loss, Tiet struggled financially and emotionally. There was a difficult time he suffered from depression.

I was so gravely-ill I had to rely on respiratory support, blood flowed in my nose. But thanks to that difficult time, I was aware that I was still alive. I came to realize that I had to treasure this life even more, as long as my heart still beating”, Y Tiet told Thanh Nien. “Each day is a new opportunity to live and chase my dream. Thus, I’ve got to live it to the fullest”.

Maybe I’m nobody. I have nothing either. But my soul is always filled with happiness. For me, happiness is where life begins”, he added.

Thanks to the positive attitude in life, the herdsman So Y Tiet has been nominated as the Inspirational character of the year by 2020 TikTok Awards. The result will be announced in late December.

His optimism has been spread to other people, conveying a positive message to society.

“I think it’s not too hard to be happy. If I just kept the happiness in the past for myself, then from now on, I’ll share that joy to everyone”, So Y Tiet said with a big smile on his face.
