In her opening remarks, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka (Japan) Vu Chi Mai said that the Vietnamese community in Fukuoka - Japan has successfully organized many large-scale programs over the years. She mentioned the contest "Miss Vietnam - Japan Friendship," or the Ao Dai Fashion Week in Fukuoka, which set 2 global Vietnamese records.
They are the record for the event of forming the Vietnam map with the largest number of Vietnamese expatriates and foreigners in Ao Dai; and the record for the festival of Vietnamese people abroad with the most diverse series of activities connecting the overseas Vietnamese community and welcoming the traditional New Year.

Mai affirmed that the Hometown Spring Festival is highly appreciated by the government, people and foreign community in Japan and is also the Lunar New Year event held with the largest scale and number of participants in Japan and in the world.
The scheduled dates for the Spring Homeland Program 2025 in Japan are January 4-5, 2025 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan and January 10-12, 2025 in Fukuoka, Japan. Within the framework of the festival, there will be booths introducing Vietnamese handicraft products, consumer goods, promoting tourism and culture.
Captivating performances by popular Vietnamese artists, singers, and actors will take place. There are two highlight events in the series. They are Miss Culture - Friendship International 2025 and International Supermodel Kids 2025 in Japan.

"The program's organizers hope that this event will promote the image of the country and Vietnamese people integrating into the world, building the image of the Vietnamese community's position of solidarity and development in Japan in particular and globally in general. Also, the festival is a meaningful traditional Tet gift for Vietnamese people living abroad," said Mai.
Deputy Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Manh Dong said that the Vietnamese community in Japan participating in the 2025 Homeland Spring Festival play both roles of the creative subject and the beneficiary of spiritual values. Each individual will be a cultural ambassador, a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and Japan. He believes that the Spring Homeland 2025 program will continue to attract a large number of Vietnamese people in Japan and international friends to participate.
"This will be a series of activities promoting the beauty of Vietnamese women, traditional cultural values of Vietnam, a country that loves peace, harmony and friendliness," he said.

"The Vietnamese community in Japan currently has nearly 600,000 people, the second largest foreign community in the world. Of which, the Vietnamese community in Fukuoka has more than 55,000 people. The Miss Culture - Friendship International 2025 and the International Junior Supermodel 2025 contests will be held in Japan from July 17, 2024 to January 24, 2025. Miss Phuong Khanh - Miss Earth 2018 and runner-up Mai Ngo - 4th runner-up Miss Grand Vietnam 2022 will be the Ambassadors of this year's program," said Nguyen Duy Anh.
He added that the Miss Culture - Friendship International 2025 contest not only honors beauty but also emphasizes understanding, cultural connection and friendship between countries. The contest has the following criteria: Promoting traditional cultural values of Vietnam, promoting international friendship and cooperation, developing social projects and community activities. There are also the criteria of building and honoring the image of modern women with a combination of beauty, intelligence and compassion, connecting, cooperating, developing and uniting the network of Vietnamese communities around the world.
