Vietnamese Runner Wins Award At French Race

On September 2, overcoming 2,402 opponents, Vietnamese runner Ha Thi Hau finished fourth at the world's most extensive terrain running race Ultra - Trail du Mont - Blanc 2023 held in Chamonix (France).

Ultra-Trail du Mont–Blanc was first opened in 2003, gathering top trail and mountain runners from around the world. The athletes started from Chamonix (France), went around the Alps, and then crossed the borders of France, Switzerland, and Italy. In order to qualify, athletes must accumulate points from races under the UTMB system.

Ultra-Trail du Mont - Blanc 2023 was held in Chamonix (France) on September 2. More than 2,400 athletes from all over the world participated in the tournament. More than 2,400 athletes from all over the world participated in the tournament. Participating in the competition, athletes must overcome a steep mountain road through three peaks of Courmayeur - Champex - Chamonix with a total elevation of more than 6,100 meters, and a running distance of 100 km. This is considered the most difficult race in the world.

Armed with passion and hard training in mountain running and proud achievements in domestic and international running events in recent years, runner Ha Thi Hau has entered the Ultra-Trail du Mont - Blanc 2023 full of determination and confidence.

After a long journey, Ha Thi Hau finished fourth with 12 hours 38 minutes 28 seconds in the women's content, only 23 seconds behind American runner Helen Mino Faukner's top 3. This is the first time a Southeast Asian runner has reached the top 10 at Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.

The tournament also recognized the champion of the tournament as Norwegian athlete Yngvild Kaspersen (11 hours 51 minutes 22 seconds); Second place was Zimbabwean athlete Emily Hawgood (12 hours 28 minutes 19 seconds).
