Vietnamese Students in RoK Praised for Great Academic Performance
RoK is a country with quality education, highly appreciated in Asia. The country also focuses on investing in educational development, considering education as the "root" of development. Therefore, many international students, including Vietnamese students, are attracted to study in RoK.
Vietnamese Students Achieve High Academic Results

For example, amongst more than 1,000 international students at Dong A University (Busan City), up to 900 are Vietnamese students. Keimyung University (Daegu City) has more than 2,600 international students, 1,605 among them are Vietnamese students. Ajou University (Suwon City) has nearly 1,700 international students and more than 670 are Vietnamese students. Vietnam sent the 2nd largest number of international students to Chung Ang University (Seoul), only after China, with more than 420 Vietnamese students. At University of Seoul City, there are currently more than 50 Vietnamese students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels...

Many Vietnamese students love the country, people and culture of RoK and choose to continue their undergraduate and postgraduate studies here. Meanwhile, there are also Vietnamese students who win scholarships from the Government or scholarships from RoK universities through their efforts and determination.
University presidents, international deans, and international student managers at some prestigious RoK universities praised Vietnamese students for their great academic performance, their ability to adapt, integrate and actively participate in activities, which is considered a contribution to spreading Vietnamese culture with international student friends.
President of Dong A University (Busan City) Hae Woo Lee said that Vietnamese students are outstanding in the international student community and even when compared with students from the host country. Most of Vietnamese students study hard, are diligent and have good ethics.

Prof. Lim Hee Jong, Director of International Student Support Center of University of Seoul City shared the same assessment about Vietnamese students. Accordingly, Vietnamese students have very good academic achievements and actively participate in school activities. This University always wants to accept more Vietnamese students.
Shin Sang Soo is working in the Department of International Cooperation, Keimyung University (Daegu City). He said that this University has accepted Vietnamese students since 2001. Up to now, the number of Vietnamese students at Keimyung University are 1,605 students.
“Vietnamese students are always the top students in terms of academic achievement. More than 90% of them receive school scholarships; some even achieve full scholarships. International students entitled with government scholarships studying at the school are mostly Vietnamese students. All of them can pay for their own lives, some can even help their families in Vietnam”, said Shin Sang Soo.
International Student Support Specialist of the International Cooperation Department (Ajou University-Suwon City) Kim Won Jae assessed that Vietnamese students are diligent and adapt very quickly to different cultures.
Vietnamese students are also very active in participating in school activities and extracurricular programs. A Vietnamese student was the President of the 1st and 2nd term of the Ajou University's International Student Association and led the operation of the Association for excellent activities.

Spreading Vietnamese Culture to International Friends
Most Vietnamese students, when asked about life and the learning environment in RoK, shared the joy and comfort of studying in a fully equipped environment with modern equipment and school supplies, spacious, beautiful, and fresh campus... Nguyen Van Kiet is the President of the Vietnamese Student Association at Dong A University (Busan). Kiet said that at first the biggest difficulty for Vietnamese students was the language barrier, but at Dong A University, Vietnamese students were supported by the school and helped by previous students to improve their language proficiency. With their hard-working and industrious nature, Vietnamese students always achieve good results in their studies and especially actively participate in school activities.

According to Kiet, Vietnamese Student Association is one of the outstanding student associations with many diverse activities. Established in 2012, the Vietnamese Student Association at Dong A University has organized many programs to attract not only Vietnamese students but also international students, from cultural exchange programs, summer picnics, culinary fairs, sports festivals, international student festivals, competitions to learn about Vietnamese culture...
Such exciting and meaningful activities are to increase exchanges with students in the school and other schools. At the same time, it is an opportunity to spread the dynamic, creative, and friendly image of Vietnamese students, to introduce and spread Vietnamese culture to international friends.
Ta Thi Luyen (Faculty of Korean Education) is the President of the Vietnamese Student Association and the President of the International Student Association of Keimyung University (Daegu City). Luyen said that it was the variety of scholarships thas attracted students to Keimyung University. Vietnamese Student Association here also organizes many exchange and volunteer activities with the participation of Vietnamese students and international friends.
