The conference was attended by representatives of the Vietnamese Student Association in the UK, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Australia, the Netherlands, Hungary, Austria, Korea, Thailand, and Singapore; representatives from the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in Romania, Czech Republic, Japan, Poland, Spain; Youth Union staff in Russia, Cuba, China, Laos...
According to the Thanh Giong Portal, representatives of the abroad Youth Union and associations reported that due to the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, many countries imposed long restrictions, blockades, which severely affected the studying, working, producing, selling activities, as well as the function of Vietnamese students' unions and associations.
In addition, international and Vietnamese students in many countries returned to their homelands in large numbers or have switched to studying and researching online. Most of the major activities, especially youth and students' connections expected in 2020, could not be held or must also use virtual forms to suit the current situation. However, the Youth Union and Associations have overcome the aforementioned difficulties. Activities to support young people's startups have still been deployed regularly. Notably, Vietnam Student Association in Singapore successfully held an online seminar named "Dream to study in Singapore", Vietnamese Student Association in the Netherlands hosted "Vietnamese Youth's Initiative Across Europe" contest
The propaganda of Vietnam's image to international friends had remarkable achievement, especially on social networks. Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Vietnam Student Association in Singapore held Vietnamese courses for international students.

Besides, Vietnamese Student Association in Thailand held exchange activities with the Embassy of Vietnam and the Association of Vietnamese-origin in Thailand; Vietnam Student Association in the UK held a series of events to welcome new members, sharing experiences, and answering questions from new students in online form.
Remarkable highlights in 2020 were numerous new initiatives in propagating the image of Vietnam's country and people to the world. Many photos, videos promoting the homeland, country, and people have been widely shared on social networks such as Youtube, Facebook. Student Associations and Youth Unions abroad held many volunteer activities towards the homeland, such as helping the young return to homeland through rescue flights, supporting food to flood victims in Central Vietnam.
Over the past time, abroad Youth Unions and Associations have reviewed, evaluated and selected outstanding individuals to attend "Student of 5 merits and "January Star" awards to timely encourage and create training environments for students, contributing to improving the quality of Vietnam's human resources.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee, and President of the Central Vietnam Student Association acknowledged, praised, and highly appreciated the fact that institutions had managed to hold many activities in the past year in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, he suggested that institutions promote and strengthen the information connection between the Youth Union and the abroad associations to timely note abroad Vietnamese youth's aspirations, from which pandemic situations, international students' desire, and aspirations shall be shared.
