Vietnam's phone exports to China tripled

In the first quarter of 2020, even though China was heavily influenced by the COVID-19 epidemic, Vietnam's exports of many goods to this country still increased sharply.
According to the General Department of Customs, in March 2020, Vietnam's export turnover to China reached nearly 3.9 billion USD, thereby bringing the total turnover of the first quarter of 2020 to over 9,3 billion USD.
Compared to the same period of 2019, Vietnam's export turnover to China increased by more than 1.7 billion USD, equivalent to a growth rate of 23%.
It is worth noting that the export of mobile phones and components reached an impressive figure in the first quarter of 2020 with a value of nearly US$ 2 billion, soared nearly three times compared to the same period last year of US$ 510 million, according to Vietstock.

The largest group of exports to this market was computers, electronic products and components with a turnover of nearly US$ 2.6 billion, also up sharply by 46%.
In the first quarter of 2020, the Chinese market alone contributed more than US$25.5 billion, accounting for nearly 21% of the country's import-export turnover and continued to be Vietnam's largest trading partner.

Total import and export turnover of Vietnam in March was estimated at US $ 39 billion, down 11.1% over the same period last year. Generally for the first quarter, total import and export turnover of goods reached US$ 115.34 billion, down 0.7%, of which exports reached US $ 59.08 billion, up 0.5%; import reached 56.26 billion USD, down 1.9%, trade surplus in the first quarter of this year reached 2.8 billion USD.

Vietnam's phone export turnover in March was estimated at US$ 4.8 billion, down 1.4% from the previous month. By the end of the first quarter, exports of phones and components of the whole country reached US$ 12.36 billion, up 2% over the same period last year.
