Tra Co beach, which is located in Mong Cai, Quang Ninh, and is about 200 kilometers from the center of the city. This is considered a romantic site since it still preserves the traits of wilderness and is the source of endless inspiration for artists and writers. Once visitors set foot at Tra Co, they will be amazed by the food, people, famous sceneries, and the long, beautiful coastline here.
Tra Co is known for not only its abundance of natural resources but also its vast 15-kilometer coastline that seems to stretch to eternity. Just nearby you can see a shadowed casuarinas forest, used to protect the inner village from hurricanes and the sand from erosion. It is neighboured by an original eco-system of mangrove forest in the zone lung. Known as one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, Tra Co is occasionally put in comparison with Nha Trang beach.

How to get to Tra Co
To get to Tra Co beach, Quang Ninh, tourists can travel by car, bus, or hydrofoil.
From Hanoi to Tra Co
If you start from Hanoi, follow Road 5 and then turn to Highway 1B, heading towards Bac Ninh. Turn right at Highway 18 to Pha Lai. When you are close to Ha Long, there will be a road sign that guides you through Bai Chay bridge, continue to drive from Ha Long to Mong Cai along Highway 18 for about 180 kilometers. When you reach Mong Cai, drive about 12 kilometers until you arrive at Tra Co beach.
From Hai Phong or Bai Chay to Tra Co

If you start at Hai Phong or Bai Chay, you can go by the marine way on a hydrofoil, which brings an exciting experience that you have never had before. There will be two routes: one in the morning, and one in the afternoon from Tra Co back to Bai Chay and from Hai Phong to Tra Co.

What to eat in Tra Co
One of the most attractive parts of discovering Tra Co is the local food, as you can try different dishes that you have never known before that you can only find in this land. Like many other sea areas, Tra Co has an abundance of fresh seafood that is captured by fishermen. 1. Tra Co beach
Tra Co beach is located in the Northeastern extreme of the “S-shaped Vietnam,” in Quang Ninh province. It is by the border with China, and around 8 kilometers from Mong Cai mountainous town and some 170 kilometers far away from Halong. With its advantages in terms of location, the beach is the destination of a number of travelers, especially those who come from China.
To the west, the province borders an extended forest and mountainous region. To the east, it is adjacent to the Gulf of Tonkin. It features a meandering coastline, numerous estuaries and tidal flats, and more than 2,000 large and small islands. Of which 1,030 have been named. The local annual temperature is around 22.7oC with two main seasons (Hot and Cold). The best time for swimming in the summer season is from April to September.

Mong Cai Market is considered one of the busiest border gate markets in Quang Ninh province. Mong Cai market is a paradise for shoppers because the products are diverse, most of them from China. They range from home appliances to ready-to-wear clothing and accessories. For men, electronics are the most sought-after products here.
3. Sa Vi cape

Located in Tra Co ward, Mong Cai city, Sa Vi Cape (also known as Gót Cape) in the furthest north-eastern corner of Vietnam. Marked by a signboard in the shape of 3 pine trees reaching up to the blue sky, on which reads a poem by the revolutionary poet To Huu, "From Tra Co’s casuarina forests to Ca Mau’s mangrove forests”. From here, you can overlook and immerse in the crescent-shaped beauty of Tra Co beach.
