VUFO Chairwoman receives new Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam

The meeting saw the attendance of Chairman of the Vietnam - Romanian Friendship Association Tong Van Nga and member of the Board Member of the Association Nguyen Van Xuong.
At the meeting, Nga welcomed Ambassador Cristina Romila on her new term of office in Vietnam, reiterating the longstanding traditional friendship between Vietnam and Romania and over the years.
The relations of the Vietnam - Romania friendship has been increasingly strengthened and strengthened in many fields, said Nga, expressing gratitude to Romania's willingness to help Vietnam in the struggle for national liberation as well as national construction.
On this occasion, Chairwoman Nguyen Phuong Nga introduced to the Ambassador the functions, tasks, and activities of the VUFO and the Vietnam - Romania Friendship Association.
Nga wished the Ambassador a successful term, making active contributions to and deepening the relations between Vietnam and Romania.

For her part, Ambassador Cristina Romila expressed her pleasure when accepting the mission in Vietnam; said that this is the third time she has come to Vietnam and she has many memories with Vietnam.
Ambassador Cristina Romila shared her impression of a Vietnam with an increasingly high role and reputation in the international arena, with many beautiful landscapes, cultural heritages, hospitable and friendly Vietnamese people; stressing that this term she will make every effort to promote the Romanian-Vietnam friendship to a new height.
She believes that she will have cultural experiences and discover Vietnam more.
Both sides affirmed their goodwill and determination to strengthen people-to-people exchanges, solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between them.
In the afternoon of the same day, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam - Romania Friendship Association had a working meeting with the new Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam on cooperation plans between the Association and the Embassy shortly.

Vietnam and Romania established diplomatic relations on February 3, 1950, making the latter one of the first countries to set up diplomatic ties with the former. During the last decades, Romanian universities trained more than 4,000 specialists for Vietnam, many of them contributing, as experts, to build Vietnam into a modern and prosperous country, and connecting bridges of friendship and co-operation between two countries. Vietnam is one of Romania's major economic partners in Asia and a leading trade partner of the European country in Southeast Asia. Trade turnover between Vietnam and Romania in 2019 reached USD 267 million, up 24 percent compared to the previous year. In 2020, the two-way trade, despite the impact of the COVID -19 epidemic, reached more than USD 283.39 million, up 10.5 percent compared to the previous year. The two countries have many areas to consider to promote cooperation such as economic and investment cooperation, agricultural sector, infrastructure, information technology, biotechnology services, logistics, and tourism, etc. |
