VUFO Presents Insignia to Cambodian Ambassador

President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Nguyen Phuong Nga said Ambassador Chay Navuth is a close friend of Vietnam. During his first term in Vietnam as an Ambassador, with his tireless efforts and practical activities, the Ambassador has made contributions to promoting the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the Vietnamese and Cambodian people.
Two-way trade exceeded US$12 billion in 2022 and the two countries have successfully organized the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2022 with a wide range of diverse activities, Nga added.
During the tenure of Ambassador Chay Navuth, the people-to-people exchange between Vietnam and Cambodia has been promoted, becoming more effective.
Under the direction of the Ambassador, the Embassy of Cambodia in Vietnam and the Consulate General of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City have worked closely with VUFO, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association to organize many activities such as: organizing the visit to Cambodia of the President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association Nguyen Thi Thanh, supporting the transfer of money and medical supplies to help the two peoples in the fight against Covid-19.
The important development steps of the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship and people-to-people exchange activities held over the past three years have seen contributions by Chay Navuth and the Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam, Nguyen Phuong Nga said.

Ambassador Chay Navuth expressed his gratitude to VUFO, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association for their cooperation in promoting the two countries' relations, especially in people-to-people diplomacy.
He also said that during his term, he had spent a lot of time working with the border provinces of the two countries, strengthening cooperation and trade relations.
The Ambassador appreciated the signing of a cooperation agreement between Vietnamese and Cambodian youth.
The signed cooperation agreement has contributed to the development of exchange activities between the two countries' young generations, thereby further cementing the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship.
Chay Navuth said it was an honor for him to receive the noblest award of VUFO.
The ambassador affirmed that he will always remember and treasure VUFO’s assistance and sentiments Vietnamese people have reserved for him during his tenure.
Ambassador Chay Navuth affirmed that in any position, he will always contribute to promoting, cultivating, and developing the relationship between the two countries.
