At the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc conferred the Third-Class Independence Medals to Member of the 11th Central Committee of Vietnam Communist Party, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, former Ambassador of Consul General of Vietnam in San Francisco Ho Xuan Son; former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Germany Doan Xuan Hung; former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Cuong thanks to their outstanding achievements during their tenures, contributing to the cause of socialist construction and national defense.

Also at the ceremony, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh awarded Third-class Labor Medals to Member of the Central Committee of Vietnam Communist Party, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Vinh; Assistant to Minister of Foreign Affairs cum Head of General Economics Department Nguyen Van Thao.

The Vice President also granted Second-class Labor Medal to Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) President, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Phuong Nga.
