VUFO hands over 500 sets of COVID-19 test kits to help Da Nang fight COVID-19

Nguyen Ngoc Binh, Chairman of Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, on behalf of the VUFO, have presented supplies to the Da Nang Center for Disease Control.
Responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) and Da Nang People's Committee, the VUFO have handed over to Da Nang 500 sets of COVID-19 test kit.
On this occasion, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations also joined hands with the city's Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association and Vietnam - US Friendship Association to mobilize 6,000 medical masks from Vinamask International Co., Ltd., and 1,200 N95 masks as gifts to the front-line medical staff fighting the pandemic.
On behalf of the Da Nang Center for Disease Control, Ton That Thanh, Director of the center thanked the VUFO in general and the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations in particular, expressing his hope that the city would continue to receive further support from the organizations.
At the hand-over ceremony, the Da Nang Center for Disease Control also informed Binh about the disease situation in the city.

The first fresh coronavirus case was confirmed in Da Nang city on July 25, raising public concerns about the start of the second wave of the coronavirus in Vietnam.
Since then, Da Nang has recorded hundreds of infections cases, with eight deaths. The city has put three major hospitals - the General Hospital, the C Hospital and Cardiovascular Centre under lockdown.
Unlike the outbreak at Hanoi’s Bach Mai Hospital a couple of months ago, the one at Da Nang Hospital occurred to a greater extent and it has now spread to several hospitals with many patients, patient caretakers and medical workers infected.
Currently, the latest outbreak has spread to nine cities and provinces across the country since the first case was detected.
Talking to Thoi Dai (Vietnam Times) magazine, Nguyen Ngoc Binh, Chairman of Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, said: “The Da Nang Union is also launching a campaign to call for affiliated member organizations, civil servants, officials and employees actively donate money, medical supplies, necessities and continue encouraging and working together to support the city in the tough and dangerous fight against COVID-19.
In addition, the Da Nang Union also sent a letter of appeal to diplomatic agencies, organizations, businesses as well as benefactors inside and outside the city and call them to support and share difficulties with Da Nang city."
