VUFO President Receives DPRK Ambassador

President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Phan Anh Son received Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to Vietnam Ri Sung Guk, who paid a courtesy call at the beginning of his term in Vietnam.

At the reception, Ambassador Ri Sung Guk said he is greatly impressed by Vietnam’s development achievements in recent years, including the progress made in the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. He expressed confidence that, under the leadership of the Communist Party, Vietnam would successfully achieve its goal of becoming a developed industrialized country by 2045.

The diplomat emphasized the two countries’ traditional friendship and cooperation established and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung, and continuously preserved, and promoted by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

The Ambassador spoke highly of VUFO's practical and effective contributions to fostering traditional relations between the DPRK and Vietnam. He expressed hope that VUFO would continue to serve as a bridge to strengthen ties between the people of the two countries.

For his part, VUFO President Phan Anh Son commended the DPRK for its achievements in national development, economic growth, and improvements in citizens’ living standards in recent years.

The President expressed his wish to strengthen people-to-people relations between VUFO and corresponding organizations in the DPRK, and the Embassy of the DPRK in Vietnam, through future activities involving delegation exchanges, cultural and artistic exchanges, and people-to-people exchanges.

The two officials agreed to collaborate on organizing people-to-people exchanges to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the DPRK and other significant events for the two countries in 2025.

On this occasion, President Phan Anh Son congratulated Ambassador Ri Sung Guk on his appointment as the DPRK Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam.
