No need to test for Covid-19 when traveling by plane
From January 21, visitors from areas with pandemic risk level 1, 2 and 3 when traveling by plane do not need a certificate of full doses of the Covid-19 vaccine or the certificate of recovery from Covid-19.
Similarly, children in these three areas do not need to present a Covid-19 test certificate before the flight. However, people coming from a level 4 Covid-19 risk area (red zone) need a negative test result within 72 hours.
People with symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, loss of taste, muscle aches and pains will not be allowed to fly. PC-Covid application is required to download for medical declaration. Before, during, and after the flight, travelers should wear masks, disinfect their hands, and limit contact with others.
Restrictions in localities
Currently, most of the famous tourist destinations have relaxed travel regulations, welcoming tourists from pandemic risk level 1, 2, 3 such as Ha Giang, Lao Cai, and Da Nang. However, many localities still have their own regulations for tourists.

Specifically, in the North, visitors from all levels of pandemic risk to Moc Chau (Son La) need a certificate of 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccine and a certificate of nCoV negative test by rapid test method.
Visitors from pandemic risk level 3 and 4 when visiting some resorts in Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh need to have a negative test result for nCoV.
In the South, localities have now lifted almost all travel regulations. Particularly, Con Dao (Ba Ria Vung Tau) requires all visitors to have nCoV test results within 72 hours before arriving on the island, otherwise they will have to take the test right at the accommodation facility. Currently, F0, F1 tourists when coming to Con Dao must undergo isolation and treatment at accommodation facilities.
Crowded destinations in Vietnam
According to representatives of tour companies Vietravel, Fiditour and booking platform Booking.com, travel demand increases during Tet. The most interested and booked destinations are Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Vung Tau City, Da Lat, Da Nang, followed by localities in the Northeast and Northwest. Currently, rooms in the 4-5 star segment in these places are all full on February 2-4 (January 2-4 of the Lunar New Year), only a few rooms are left on the 1st, 5th or 6th day of Tet.
Destinations that are less crowded but still have mountains and sea are Phan Thiet, Mui Ne (Binh Thuan), Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh) or Ho Tram (Ba Ria Vung Tau). Visitors can still choose cultural and historical destinations such as Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam), Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak).

Transportation, accommodation and catering services all increased by about 10-30% but not evenly. Specifically, the flight ticket from Hanoi to Phu Quoc on February 2-4 costs VND4 to 6 million (US$176 to 264), but to Hue, Da Nang and Nha Trang is cheaper, only VND1.3 to 3 million (US$57 to 132). Therefore, visitors can consider moving to these places to avoid crowds and save costs.
