200 Scholarships Awarded to Lao Students in Vietnam
On November 30, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Study Promotion Association cooperated with the Lao Embassy in Vietnam to organize a scholarship awarding ceremony for 200 excellent Lao students in Vietnam. Each scholarship is worth VND 3,000,000.
This practical activity shows the close affection between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos, a vivid expression of the concern of the Party and Government of Vietnam in general, and the Vietnam Association for Study Promotion in particular with Lao students in Vietnam, in order to encourage them to constantly strive, study, and contribute to the construction of Laos in the future.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, former Vice President Vietnam, President of the Vietnam Study Promotion Association, sent congratulations to all officers and employees of the Lao Embassy, and Lao students in Vietnam on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the National Day of Lao PDR (2/12/1975 - 2/12/2022).
According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, the Vietnam - Laos traditional relationship shows special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, rooted in patriotism combined with internationalism, solidarity, and trust in the sincerity and purity that the two nations have for each other. That relationship was built and nurtured with the effort, materials, and blood of many generations of Vietnam - Laos. Through many difficulties, that relationship is not only intact but increasingly pure, nurtured by the "helping your friend is helping yourself" concept that President Ho Chi Minh pointed out.
In that spirit, schools and universities in Vietnam have so far trained generations of Lao students and have supported them in many ways. In order to preserve and promote the traditional and special relationship between the two countries, the Vietnam Study Promotion Association has also contributed to that historical process by motivating and encouraging Lao students to become a quality workforce, serving the cause of the Lao revolution and continuing the previous generations to cultivate the special relationship.

According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, in the current context of the world and two countries, students must strive to acquire three core competencies including self-study capacity, lifelong learning; the ability to use interactive tools; and the ability to build and implement social relationships, to become academic and global citizens.
"We want to share those skills with Lao students in Vietnam. We hope they strive to become learning citizens, together with Vietnamese citizens to build two countries to be more and more beautiful, continuing the tradition, cultivating the relationship between the two sides", Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan said.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR in Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang thanked the Government, the State, and the Vietnam Study Promotion Association for always standing shoulder to shoulder with the Lao people, sharing resources to support Lao students in Vietnam.
"The scholarships that Lao students receive today are not only an encouragement but also a strong affection and friendship between the two countries," said Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang.
