An additional four COVID-19 patients are announced to have made a full recovery from the virus on June 2.

With no new case confirmed, June 5 marks the 50th day that Vietnam has gone without recording any single new COVID-19 infection caused by community transmission. As of 6:06 pm on June 5, the nation’s COVID-19 infection tally now stays at 328, including 188 entering from epidemic-hit countries.

An additional five more novel coronavirus (COVID-19) patients were discharged from hospital on June 5. They were Vietnamese citizens who had recently been repatriated from Russia, a country hit hard by the COVID-19, with each individual being immediately placed into quarantine upon their arrival in the nation.

However, they will now be placed into isolation in their hometowns in order to undergo a mandatory 14-day observation period to ensure there is no possibility of the virus reoccurring.

The current 21 active cases are being treated at health facilities, of whom 10 tested negative for the virus once and three tested negative at least twice.

As many as 8,143 people having been in close contact or entering from pandemic-hit areas are being isolated at hospitals, concentrated quarantine establishments, and places of residence.

The nation has no fatality due to the virus so far, while the health of Patient 91, the country’s most critically ill COVID-19 patient, has improved significantly.

Undergoing intensive care at the Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City after being announced as free from the deadly virus, the British pilot has regained consciousness and his lung recovery has reached about 60%.

The patient stopped relying on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) but he is still in serious condition./.
