	Workshop held to Review Project on Gender-Based Violence Protection for Adolescent Girls

As many as 100 households in Tung San and Ban Luoc communes of Ha Giang province's Hoang Su Phi district on March 15 received maize seeds and fertilizer to restore agricultural production after Typhoon Yagi.

This initiative is part of the "Supporting Communities in Recovery after Typhoon YAGI" project, funded by UNIQLO through Plan International Japan.

Families who have lost their assets, livestock, or other means of livelihood received maize seeds and fertilizer.

The project was implemented in close coordination with the Plan International Hoang Su Phi Project Management Board, the People's Committee of Hoang Su Phi district, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and Hoang Su Phi Broadcasting Station, ensuring timely and effective support for those in need.

This essential support package includes one kilogram of maize seeds per household, 30 kilograms of Urea fertilizer per household, and 15 kilograms of NPK fertilizer per household

Beyond emergency relief, Plan International Vietnam’s projects focus on sustainable livelihood solutions, empowering communities not only to overcome immediate challenges but also to gain the tools and knowledge for long-term self-reliance. From providing quality seeds and developing livelihood models to offering training in agricultural production, these initiatives go beyond just "giving a fish"—they equip communities with "a fishing rod", enabling them to rebuild their lives and create a more sustainable future after natural disasters.

Earlier, the inauguration ceremony for the landslide prevention embankment at Chien Pho Semi-boarding Ethnic Primary School, Hoang Su Phi district, took place on March 14. The event also marked the conclusion of the project “Humanitarian Assistance Response to Tropical Cyclone Yagi The Aftermath in Vietnam and Laos (HARYAV)”, implemented by Plan International Vietnam with funding from the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid (ECHO).

The embankment was constructed to protect the school’s boarding area from severe landslide risks. With a total investment of nearly VND 500 million (USD 19.580), the project was completed in a short period thanks to collective efforts. The People’s Committee of Chien Pho commune provided timber, formwork, and trees, while local parents and residents contributed 276 working days to reinforce the foundation, ensuring the project’s timely completion within three months.

After nearly six months of implementation, the project in Chien Pho commune has provided tangible support such as 300 students receiving educational support packages, ensuring they have the necessary resources to continue their studies. Several households received hygiene kits, improving living conditions and public health. 48 teachers and school healthcare staff were trained in psychological counseling to help students cope with the emotional impacts of natural disasters. The school’s water system also was assessed and improved, contributing to better health for both students and teachers.
