On February 21, the People's Committee of An Giang province had a meeting with the Korea-Vietnam Economic Cooperation Committee and the RoK business delegation to strengthen cooperation between An Giang and the RoK through trade, investment and tourism promotion activities.

At the meeting, An Giang province discussed with the RoK delegation about the potential and opportunities for cooperation and investment in the province; export potential, especially in agriculture and aquatic product processing.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of An Giang province, increasing exports through large corporations and distribution systems like S.Korea is an effective solution. It can help An Giang products and businesses participate in the global value chain and supply chain.

An Giang enterprises have introduced to the RoK business delegation potential products, strengths, and OCOP-certified products of the province to connect trade and export to the RoK market.

RoK businesses also expressed their desire to cooperate in trade and distribution of products between Vietnam and the RoK, areas in which RoK businesses can invest in An Giang province.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Thu affirmed the close relationship between An Giang province and RoK businesses in recent years.

He said that he will continue to connect and create conditions for RoK businesses to explore the market and invest in An Giang, connecting trade and distribution of products between An Giang and RoK enterprises.

According to Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, Tran Anh Thu, the province has prepared land plots to invite RoK businesses to survey, invest in building supermarkets, prioritizing distribution of special products of An Giang and the RoK to consumers in the province and the Mekong Delta region.

Korea is currently one of the countries with bilateral and multilateral trade agreements with Vietnam. However, trading activities of An Giang and RoK enterprises are still modest compared to the needs of the market.
