Association for Liaison with OVs Vietnamese in HCMC Introduces New Executive Committee
Speaking at the event, Vice President and General Secretary of the Association Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong summarized the activities of the Association in the second term and the direction for the third term. According to Phuong, during the last term, the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City (ALOV-HCMC) organized numerous meetings with overseas Vietnamese and informed them of the policies of the State.

At the same time, the Association connected overseas Vietnamese to participate in numerous conferences and seminars to find business investment opportunities; created favorable conditions for Vietnamese intellectuals abroad to share experiences with their domestic colleagues and find opportunities for cooperation in research and teaching; etc.
The Association also serves as a bridge for overseas Vietnamese organizations to help Vietnamese students improve their foreign languages and find scholarships to study abroad. Congress agreed to consult the Executive Committee of the third term with 30 members. Standing Committee Member, Head of the External Relations Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of HCMC Le Van Thu is appointed as President of the Association.

Vice Chairman of the HCMC Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Tran Duc Hien said: “During the last term, the Association had achieved many goals despite difficulties. I hope that the third Congress will consult the new Executive Committee with enthusiasm and talent to lead the Association effectively, following the six tasks set out by the Executive Committee for the new term".

Tran Duc Hien also suggested that the Association pay attention to the Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW of the Politburo, Circular No. 12-TT/TU, and Plan No. 1972/KH-UBND of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on overseas Vietnamese work in the new situation in Ho Chi Minh City.
