The General Statistics Office of Vietnam just announced that the average income of Vietnamese in 2020. According to a survey, the income of one person recently reaches VND 4,2 million, equivalent to VND 50,4 million per year (2.200 USD).

In the period 2016 – 2020, the average income per month has a significant rise of 8,1% in Vietnam. People living in the cities have an amount of VND 5,5 million/ month in income, which is much higher than people in the rural areas (VND 3,4 million/ month).

About 20% of people with the highest income reach VND 9,1 million/ month, eight times higher than the group with the lowest income, only VND 1,1 million/ month.

The Southeast Region has the highest average income in Vietnam, with VND 6 million/ month, 2,2 times higher than other regions, and the Nothern mountains region, where the income is the lowest (more than VND 2,7 million/ month).

According to the data in 2020 of different regions announced by The General Statistics Office of Vietnam, Binh Duong currently has the highest income, about VND 7 million per person in one month.

Meanwhile, the two biggest industries, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City only have an income of VND 5,9 million/ person and VND 6,5 million/ person, respectively.

People in Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La are at the bottom with the lowest average income in the country with VND 1,7 million, VND 1,9 million, and VND 1,74 million per month, respectively.

In other countries such as Danang, Hai Phong, people have an income of VND 5,2 million/ person and Can Tho is VND 5 million.
