Bulgarian Ambassador Visits Duong Lam Ancient Village
The Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hanoi has just organized a friendship exchange program in Duong Lam ancient village in Hanoi’s outlying Son Tay town.
The program had the presence of Bulgarian Ambassador to Vietnam Pavlin Todorov and his spouse, Nguyen Nam Hai, vice president of Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) with the participation of more than 70 members.

This is an annual activity with the purpose of giving members the opportunity to meet, bond, and learn about the culture and society of Hanoi capital, nearly 70 years of construction and development after the Liberation Day, especially is in the period of opening and economic integration; promote and introduce the country and people of Vietnam to Bulgarian members and friends.
Located in Son Tay town of the same name district just 44km away from Hanoi’s centre, Duong Lam ancient village has the typical features of a rural village with a giant banyan tree, fresh water well, and a communal house, along with 956 antique houses dating back 100 to 400 years.
The Son Tay ancient fortress citadel, covering 16 ha in Son Tay township 40km from Hanoi’s centre, not only bears historic value, but also catches attention for its unique architecture. Last year, the site celebrated its 200 years of existence.

Speaking at the program, Ambassador Pavlin Todorov thanked Hanoi's Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Association for the warm welcome. The thoughtful preparation and large number of participating members show that the association is a prestigious and attractive organization.
The diplomat shared that he was very happy and saw the affection of Vietnamese people for the country and people of Bulgaria. That is a rare sentiment, the ambassador noted and will spread this to Bulgaria.

HAUFO Vice President Nguyen Nam Hai hopes that through the program, at the sightseeing spots in Duong Lam Ancient Village and Son Tay Ancient Fortress Citadel, the ambassador will fall in love with the country. Cultural values have been preserved through many generations of Vietnamese people.
The Vice President hopes to continue to be spread by the ambassador to the people of Bulgaria. The Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hanoi will continue to be one of the bridges to maintain the good traditional friendship between Bulgaria and Vietnam.

On February 8, 1950, Bulgaria was one of the first ten countries in the world to recognize and officially establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam. The two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations (1973 - 2023).
