Business Association launched on 45th anniversary of relations between Vietnam and Germany

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, Chairman of Danang Union of Friendship Organizations, said that in 2020, Vietnam and Germany celebrated the remarkable 45-year anniversary of diplomatic relations. Experiencing historical upheavals, the cooperation between Vietnam and Germany over the past four decades has continuously developed in-depth and breadth in all fields.
At the meeting, the Deputy Consulate General of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Tina Spicher praised Vietnam's success in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. She also expressed her impressions of the remarkable economic development and achievements of Vietnam in modernizing over the past time. Ms. Tina Spicher stressed that the relationship between the two countries since the establishment of the strategic partnership had seen positive developments in all fields. At the same time, she highly appreciated the close cooperation between Vietnam and Germany on both bilateral and multilateral levels.

"In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, many celebrating programs and activities cannot be held due to complicated situations. However, the relationship between the two countries continues to be motivated by the signing and The Free Trade Agreement between the European Union (EU) and Vietnam (EVFTA). The two countries have been working closely at regional and multilateral forums as, in the last 6 months of 2020, Vietnam is serving as the Chairman of ASEAN and Germany obtains the title of President of the EU. In addition, the solidarity between the people of the two countries is increasingly tightened through mutual assistance activities in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic", stressed Tina Spicher.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Viet Thai - Vice Chairman of Vietnam - Germany Association highlighted the traditional friendship between the people of both countries through historical stages. The organizations of the Vietnamese community and German friends had acted as a bridge in strengthening relations between the two peoples. Over the past years, the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries had been developing positively, broadly, effectively, and comprehensively. Germany is one of the most important partners of Vietnam in Europe.

The Vietnam-Germany Friendship Association in Da Nang City is also one of the active members of the Vietnam-Germany Association. The Association has made important and positive contributions to people-to-people diplomacy. The Da Nang Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association has also held many events, activities, and exchanges to enhance understanding between the two countries. The Association has also mobilized, donated, and supported Da Nang City during the recent pandemic.
On this occasion, Central Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association also awarded Certificates of Merit to the Da Nang Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association and outstanding individuals for their contributions to the Association's development. On this occasion, the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association of Da Nang City announced the establishment and launch of the Vietnam - Germany Business Association of Danang City.
