Canadian food week kicks off in November

The 2016 Canadian Food Festival entitled “Savour Canadian Delights” was been held in Hanoi from November 10th to December 18th at Sheraton Hanoi Hotel to promote the best Canadian food products to Vietnamese consumers.

(VNF) - The 2016 Canadian Food Festival entitled “Savour Canadian Delights” was been held in Hanoi from November 10th to December 18th at Sheraton Hanoi Hotel to promote the best Canadian food products to Vietnamese consumers.

The event which is taking place at Hemispheres Steak & Seafood Grill Restaurant, Sheraton Hanoi Hotel, with the aim of introducing Canadian high-quality food to Vietnamese consumers such as beef, sea food and wine.

Premium products including Canadian beef, a wide range of Canadian seafood including Canadian fresh fish and seafood from both Atlantic and Pacific coasts (lobster, oyster, black cod, snow crab, salmon); beef, pork and canola oil from Alberta; fresh and dried fruits from British Columbia; and wine and beverage from Ontario will be featured at the event.

For the first time in Vietnam, wild-caught salmon from Canada’s Pacific coast and craft beer were featured among other fine Canadian products.

“It is an honor for me to welcome you to this event to showcase some of Canada’s world renowned culinary specialties”, said newly-appointed Ambassador of Canada to Vietnam, Mrs. Ping Kitnikone, at the “Savour Canadian Delights” reception on November 10th.

“From seafood and meat to fruits and beverage, Canada is well positioned to supply quality and healthy food ingredients to Vietnamese consumers”, added the Ambassador.

The Canadian Food Festival for Vietnamese is really an opportunity to experience the finest Canadian products. Canada's vast and varied land, bounded by oceans on three sides and dotted with freshwater lakes, nurtures a perse range of high-quality food ingredients.

More and more discerning Vietnamese consumers are choosing Canadian products for their quality and taste and she hoped that Canadian food and drink will become an essential part of Vietnamese eating habits.

A number of high-end restaurants are highlighting Canadian ingredients in their menu this time. Sheraton Hanoi Hotel is carrying Canadian lobster and a range of other Canadian seafood in its a la carte menu from November 7th – 18th.

Le Meridien Saigon Hotel is featuring Canadian lobster and craft beer in a buffet dinner menu every Friday and Saturday from November 4th – December 17th.

Canadian beef can also be found in Yakiniku Buffet package at Golden Gate’s SumoBBQ restaurants in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from December to end of January./.
