The German Embassy in Vietnam and Tan Hanoi Art Company on May 6 jointly held a ceremony to inaugurate the Vietnam-Germany Friendship ceramic mosaic mural, which is 26 metres long and 2.2 metres high.
Attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony were German Ambassador Guido Hidner; Singapore Ambassador Jaya Ratnam; Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Quoc Anh; artist Nguyen Thu Thuy, director of Tan Hanoi Art Company; officials of the German Embassy, artists, officials of many agencies and ministries; students studying German and journalists from news and television agencies.
The mural was designed by artist Thu Thuy on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany in 2020, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was not completed until recent.
With the desire to express the love and attachment of many Vietnamese people who have lived and studied in many different cities in Germany, artist Thu Thuy has sketched the draft picture with joyful children waving German and Vietnamese flags in front of wind turbines in the North Sea of Germany.
Next is the natural scenery and typical architectural works of famous cities in Germany stretching from North to South and from East to West including Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, Dresden, Cologne, Mainz, Leipzig, Munich, among others.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, painter Nguyen Thu Thuy, who masterminded the project, said that she wasproud and touched when international friends and the public give special affection for Hanoi.

He also emphasized the message conveyed in the picture: the message of the strong friendship between the two countries and the noble goals that both nations are aiming for: preserving and protecting the environment through actively using renewable energy and using environmentally friendly means of transport, preserving architectural heritages as an integral part of the spiritual life of the two countries.
The ceramic mosaic mural is a meaningful gift that the German Embassy wants to send to the people of the capital on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany and is also a passionate work that artist Thu Thuy sends her love of the Vietnamese people towards Germany.
