Children Protection in Thanh Hoa Province Assisted by German Organization
The People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province has just issued Decision No. 1008/QD-UBND dated March 14, 2024, on approval to receive aid of more than VND 1.8 billion (USD 72.800) to implement the project "Improving community capacity in prevention and control physical violence against children in Thanh Hoa province" sponsored by Germany’s Terre Des Hommes organization.

Localities benefiting from the project include Thanh Hoa city's wards of Dong Tho, Dong Ve, Dong Son, Quang Hung, and Quang Phu; Hau Loc town and Hau Loc district's communes of Ngu Loc, Trieu Loc, Hung Loc, Phu Loc; But Son town and Hoang Hoa district's communes of Hoang Phong, Hoang Duc, Hoang Tien, Hoang Thinh.
The project aims to contribute to the protection of children from physical violence through the integration of non-violent parenting and the application of positive discipline methods into child protection mechanisms in Thanh Hoa province.
Also through the project are to raise awareness of physical violence and positive discipline methods; improve capacity on positive disciplinary methods for local officials and society organizations operating in the field of child protection; promote community initiatives on non-violence education; and integrate physical violence prevention and control into child protection mechanisms.
Terre des Hommes started as a relief organization for children. Later their focus shifted to combating child exploitation. Terre des Hommes supports projects worldwide in the fields of protection, prevention, and empowerment.
