Visitors from Europe decreased by 69%; from the Americas decreased by 75.7% compared to 2019.

Since March, when travel restrictions were implemented, the travel and passenger transport industry has become the sectors most affected since COVID-19 brook.

According to calculations by the Vietnam Tourism Association, in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic causes international visitors to Vietnam to decrease at least 70% compared to 2019, however, the actual number is already higher than expected (nearly 80%). Meanwhile, domestic visitors decreased by 50%; Outbound visitors fell 85%, revenue (inbound and domestic) decreased over 61%. It is estimated that the total damage reaches up to 23 billion USD.

The number of tourists fell sharply, leading to a significant decrease in revenue from accommodation, dining, and travel services in many provinces whose strengths are tourism.
