COVID-19 Updates (August 27): Remove blockage at Da Nang Hospital after 1 month

No fresh cases, 592 patients cured
On the morning of August 26, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reports that no new cases of COVID-19 were recorded, while 592 patients in total have been successfully cured.
As of 6 a.m. on August 26, Vietnam had a total of 687 cases of COVID-19 due to domestic infections, of which the number of new cases related to Da Nang since July 25 is 547 cases. The number of people in quarantined is 71,821.
Up to this point, among COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment, the number of patient having negative test results with coronavirus for the first time is 52 cases; for the second time: 67 cases, for the third time: 37 cases.
The Treatment Committee also said that among COVID-19 patients being treated in medical facilities, there were 30 cases of severe prognosis. Among these, there are 15 very serious patients, many of them at high risk of death.

Da Nang Hospital was unblocked after 1 month
The Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Da Nang City has just issued Decision No. 212/ QD-BCD to finish measures of isolating medical facilities at Da Nang Hospital from 4 p.m. on August 25, cited by PLO.
The decision clearly stated that the Director of the Department of Health instructs the Director of Da Nang Hospital to organize the implementation of a plan to restore the effectiveness of medical examination and treatment activities to ensure COVID-19 prevention and control measures according to regulations in the area, ensuring safety for patients, health workers, and the community.
Before that, from 1 pm on July 26, Da Nang hospital was blocked when the authorities determined that it was the center of the COVID-19 outbreak in Da Nang City. During the blockade, the hospital carried out many activities such as transporting serious patients to other hospitals, cleaning the hospital, testing all hospital staff.

Quang Ninh: Looking for a person who fled the medical isolation facility
The People's Committee of Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh) has just sent an official letter to the authorities about finding Bui Tien Ha citizen (born in 1983), permanent residence in Truong Thi ward (Nam Dinh city), returning Vietnam from Dongxing, Guangxi (China), fled the isolation ward of hospital No. 1.
In November 2019, this citizen illegally entered Anhui (China) through the Lang Son quota. This citizen shows symptoms of cough, fever, and chest tightness. During the treatment, Ha got the 1st negative result for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on August 15, cited by the Ministry of Heath's special website for COVID-19 information.
However, around 14:30 p.m. on August 24, Ha escaped from Hospital No. 1 (Mong Cai city). Therefore, Mong Cai requires competent agencies to track down the said workers.

Hanoi ensures the safety from COVID-19 for schools' opening ceremony
On the afternoon of August 25, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Hanoi had an online meeting with the city's districts and towns. Comrade Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee attended and directed the meeting.
To prepare for the new school year and the opening ceremony, the Department has issued two interdisciplinary guidelines relating to the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Health on Covid-19 prevention in order to organize the opening ceremony and implement a number of activities for the 2020-2021 school year.
Notably, all schools in the city agreed to hold the opening ceremony on September 5 in an offline form, according to Nhan Dan.
The Department of Education and Training requires a brief, formal, meaningful, and secure opening ceremony. Vice-Chairman of the City People's Committee Ngo Van Quy noted that all educational institutes in the city must strictly comply with the safety standards in order to effectively control the pandemic and protect student's heath.
