No new cases of COVID-19, many outbreaks are under control
The National Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of the epidemic, COVID-19, at 6 a.m., said that no new cases of COVID-19 were recorded. This is the 2nd morning in a row with no cases recorded. Up to now, outbreaks of Da Nang, Quang Nam and Hai Duong have been controlled.
As of 6 a.m. on August 22, Vietnam had a total of 667 cases of COVID-19 due to community infections, of which the number of new cases related to Da Nang from July 25 to now is 527. The total number of people being monitored for health (quarantine) is 104,793, of which: Concentrated isolation at the hospital: 2,195; Concentrated isolation at other establishments: 32,168; Self-isolation: 70,430.
By this time, 547/1009 COVID-19 patients in our country were declared cured. As of the morning of August 22, among the COVID-19 patients being treated, the number of first negative cases for SARS-CoV-2: 41 cases; Number of second times negative cases for SARS-CoV-2: 62 cases, number of third times negative cases is 27 cases.

According to the announcement of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem district, from August 21, activities on the pedestrian street will be halted to ensure the prevention of COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, at the meeting of the Steering Committee for COVID-19 epidemic prevention in Hanoi on August 21, Mr. Dinh Hong Phong asked to suspend walking street activities in the district to limit crowded activities.
Hoan Kiem walking streets are normally open from Friday evening to Sunday evening. This is also the place to organize many cultural and entertainment activities of Hanoi capital. Hoan Kiem District has 3 walking spaces including Hang Dao night market, the area around Hoan Kiem Lake and the primary reserve of Hanoi Old Quarter. On average, Hanoi Old Quarter welcomes about 20,000 to 25,000 people each weekend. Not only cultural and entertainment activities, but the street area also has many restaurants, beverage stalls, street vendors.
Due to unpredictable developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the suspension of activities on the pedestrian street is considered a solution to ensure medical safety, minimizing the possibility of spreading the disease in the community. At the same time, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 epidemic prevention in Hanoi also asked the People's Committees of localities to continue strictly implementing recent directives to prevent and control the COVID-19 outbreak, including wearing mask in public spaces, halting activities of bars, clubs, karaoke shops,...

Reporting on the disease situation, Da Nang City People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho said that in recent days, Da Nang only recorded sporadic new cases, ranging from 2-6 cases, but all were in control. In addition, there are still a few cases in the community that has not been traced, but "not significant".
“Recent new cases have entered a controllable trend and the number is decreasing gradually, allowing us to say that, with the right, consistent, decisive measures, it is possible to come to control. by the end of this August, ”said Tho.
Acting Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long also said that in general, after a month, outbreaks in Vietnam were all under control, including in Da Nang, Quang Nam and Hai Duong. However, in the next few days, in Da Nang and Quang Nam, there may still be scattered cases, due to the disease already in the community. In addition, infections can still appear scattered in some localities.
“We define the Covid-19 anti-epidemic as a long battle. Since we have not had any vaccine, we must live with the pandemic, we must set out a standard of behavior in this situation ”, the Prime Minister emphasized. He asked localities to improve the ability of testing, including simplifying procedures, creating accessible conditions for people to get tested. At the same time, the health sector needs research to identify and early diagnose Covid-19 infection in patients with symptoms of cough, fever, difficulty breathing.
Notably, the Prime Minister agreed that "there will be sanctions that require wearing a mask where necessary, installing Bluezone or some other necessary application to master disease detection action”.
