Production process for Covid-19 vaccine completed
After a successful trial period that showed COVID-19 vaccine "made in Vietnam" produced good immunity, domestic Covid-19 research and development units were optimizing the process and preparing for human injection and large scale production.
Dr. Do Tuan Dat, Chairman of Vaccine and Biological Products One Member Limited Company (VABIOTECH - Ministry of Health) - the unit that studied the Covid-19 vaccine since the beginning of the pandemic, said that VABIOTECH has conducted Covid-19 vaccine testing in animals. The results showed that the antigen of the vaccine has an immune response, ensures safety and effectiveness, in preventing diseases caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Representatives of the research team said that scientists are currently in the process of optimizing the production process. It is necessary to develop quality standards that the vaccine must meet, optimize the production process to be suitable for large scale production, all aim to produce large quantities in a short time.
On announcing the selection of raw materials for the production of Covid-19 vaccine, Dr. Dat evaluated: “The successful test results in the previous stage give us the basis to deploy the current stage. Now we can confirm we are on the right track. To be specific, we were right in choosing the antigenic region of the virus, which is an almost decisive factor, a ''core '' raw material for vaccine production, to create an immune response", cited by Thanh Nien.
According to Dr. Dat, vaccine production technology is approaching, mastering virus vector technology. With his technology, the new vaccine may have the advantage of high efficiency and short production time.
