Cruise Ship Brings over 2,000 Foreign Tourists to Da Nang

The tourists are mostly from the Netherlands, the UK, France, Italy, Denmark, Hungary, Australia, Canada, the US and Japan, according to VietnamPlus.
This was the first international cruise to visit the central city during the New Year holiday.
Upon their arrival, the tourists were given flowers and gifts and treated to lion dance performances.
During their stay in Da Nang, they are scheduled to visit some tourist destinations, including Ngu Hanh Son Mountain, Linh Ung Pagoda, and Cham Sculpture Museum.
The city received 22 international cruise ships with 18,000 passengers last year. It is expected to welcome 45 more ships with more than 40,000 travelers this year.

The total number of visitors to Da Nang in 2023 is estimated to exceed 7.4 million, doubling the figure in 2022 and equivalent to 93% of the figure in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, Vietnam Financial Times said, citing statistics by the municipal Department of Tourism.
Of them, the total number of international visitors is estimated to reach more than 2 million, a four-fold increase year-on-year and equivalent to 62% of the figure in 2019.

Meanwhile, domestic holidaymakers to the city amount to 5.4 million, an increase of 69% compared to 2022 and equivalent to 119% of the number in 2019.
Total revenue from accommodation, catering, and travel services is estimated at VND28 trillion ($1.2 billion), a surge of 67% compared to 2022 and equivalent to 133% of the figure in 2019.
Da Nang has identified five key product groups to optimize the city's potential and advantages, including high-end cruise tourism; cultural and historical tourism; MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) tourism; urban tourism; and ecotourism./.
