Czech Chamber of Deputies Seek to Strengthen Relations With Vietnamese National Assembly

On April 8, Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam had a meeting with Speaker of the Czech House of Representatives Markéta Pekarová Adamová at the House of Representatives headquarters.
At the meeting, Speaker of the House of Representatives Markéta Pekarová Adamová appreciated the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, including the relationship between the two countries' legislatures, demonstrated through the frequency of vibrant delegation exchanges at all levels.
Increasing delegation exchanges between leaders of the two sides have affirmed their political determination and efforts to promote bilateral relations.
Speaker of the Czech House of Representatives Markéta Pekarová Adamová said that the two sides still have a lot of potential for cooperation in the fields of economy-trade-investment, culture, utilizing advantages, tourism cooperation potential, and favorable geographical location of the two countries.
She hopes the two countries will soon realize the opening of direct flights to promote trade cooperation, investment, and people-to-people exchanges, meeting the expectations of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.
Appreciating the contributions of the Vietnamese community to the country's socio-economic development efforts, Adamová affirmed that the Czech Parliament, Government, and people are proud of the decision to recognize the Vietnamese community as an ethnic minority of the Czech Republic.
On the basis of good political relations, the Speaker of the Czech House of Representatives proposed that the two sides soon promote parliamentary diplomatic cooperation, especially the strengthening of cooperation and dialogue mechanisms between specialized committees and friendship parliamentary groups of the two countries, close coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP).

Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam affirmed that the potential and scope for cooperation between the two countries is huge, especially in areas where both sides have strengths and needs such as education training, developing skilled labor, renewable energy, green transformation, and digital transformation.
The Ambassador asked the House of Representatives of the Czech Republic to urge the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the IUU "yellow card" for Vietnamese seafood to support the sustainable development of the seafood industry.
The Ambassador hopes that Speaker of the Czech House of Representatives Markéta Pekarová Adamová will continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to develop, integrate deeply into the host society, and promote their role as a bridge of friendship between the two countries.
