Learning Support And Career Orientation For Vietnamese Students In Czech Republic

On March 9, the Vietnamese Youth and Students Association in the Czech Republic held the 8th Congress of Delegates for the 2024-2029 term.

In the new term, the Association is determined to promote learning support and career orientation for Vietnamese youth and students in the Czech Republic.

According to the report of the Congress, during the 2024-2029 term, the Association will focus on implementing activities to support learning, career orientation, and psychological counseling for young people. They will also promote cultural and sports activities, and organize consultation sessions on laws and residence procedures.

In addition, the Association will coordinate with the Central Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic to discover positive factors in the community, foster and develop mature association officials, and organize exchanges with young students working and studying in the country.

Among the 22 outstanding members of the new Executive Committee, Vu Dieu Ha was elected President of the Vietnamese Youth and Students Association in the Czech Republic for the 2024-2029 term.

Speaking at the Congress, Vietnamese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam assessed that the Vietnamese Youth and Students Association has proven its position and value through its pioneering role, and takes the lead in organizing meaningful youth activities in the Czech Republic as well as Europe.

The Ambassador expressed confidence that the new term Executive Committee will continue to inherit and promote the good values of the Association and further improve the position and role of youth and students.

Hoang Dinh Thang - Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe also recognized and appreciated the achievements that the association has had over the past 30 years. Thang said he has great expectations for the young generation of Vietnamese people living in the Czech Republic to develop the Association to become a leading unit in all activities.

On this occasion, the Central Vietnam Youth Union awarded certificates of merit to 7 individuals who are members of the Association in the Czech Republic. The Association also mobilized general practitioners, psychologists, interpreters, journalists, lawyers, and volunteers to perform free COVID testing, consultation, and medical examination to support the community.

The Vietnamese Youth and Students Association in the Czech Republic was established in 1993, with the sponsorship of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic.

During the 2019-2024 term, the Association organized activities that made a big impact on the young Vietnamese student community in Europe, including the 8th Vietnamese Youth and Student Festival in Europe (2022) and the scientific conference of Vietnamese Young Intellectuals in Europe (2022).

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Association called for donations to buy medical equipment and sent them to people in Binh Xuyen district of Vinh Phuc province.
