Da Nang has best resort spa in Asia
(VNF) - Harnn Heritage Spa in the central city of Danang has been named as Asia’s Best Resort Spa and Vietnam’s Best Resort Spa by the World Spa Awards.
The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort’s spa, invested by Sun Group, surpassed nine outstanding rivals to claim the titles presented at the World Spa Awards’ 2016 award ceremony in Sardinia, Italy on September 4th.
Located only 30 minute drive from the International Airport Danang (20 km) and 13 km from downtown Danang, the resort is nestled in a secluded private bay of the Son Tra Peninsula, also called Mythical Monkey Mountain.
It received the highest votes from leading experts and managing directors as well as travel agencies and customers.
“We are thrilled that there is a programme to serve as the definitive benchmark of excellence for the spa industry as the World Spa Awards and to be recognized in this year's awards is truly a result of the thoughtful and understated service and authentic local experiences we deliver to our guests everyday" said Juan Losada, General Manager of the award-winning InterContinental Danang SunPeninsula Resort.
First open to guests on 1st of June 2012 as the flagship of IHG’s resort in Vietnam, the iconic Bill Bensley designed InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort redefines the definition of luxury in Danang and throughout Vietnam and have received numerous international recognitions for its excellent service and beautiful architecture.
This is the second consecutive year Harnn Heritage Spa has won the World Spa Awards.
In 2015, it was named as the World’s Best New Hotel Spa. Inspired by traditional Asian medicine and naturopathy, each of Harnn treatments is thoughtfully designed to enrich customers’ relaxing experience.
The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was the only in the world recognized by the World Travel Awards as the most luxurious resort in 2014 and 2015.
While the original huts were anything but luxurious, their reimagined versions are oases of calm, with natural light, soothing music, marble showers and organic curves.
Designer Bill Bensley spent years visiting Vietnam’s Buddhist temples, palaces and imperial tombs as well as modest villages to acquire the resort’s unique architectural vocabulary.
The property’s overall striking black-and-white color scheme, for example, reflects the black lacquered wood and white tiles of Vietnamese temples.
Set on their own quiet lagoon apart from the main resort facilities, the HARNN Heritage Spa treatment rooms and villas share the same tubular shape as the Quonset huts and are covered in a greenish tint of rusted copper.
Inspired by the practice of traditional Asian medicine and naturopathy, each HARNN treatment is thoughtfully designed to enrich your relaxing experience.
The World Spa Awards was developed in reaction to overwhelming demand from the spa industry for a programme that was fair and transparent, with a mission to serve as the definitive benchmark of excellence, and to help to foster a new era of growth in spa tourism.
Voting methodology is simple; votes are cast by professionals working within the spa industry - senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators, agents and media - and by the public./.
