Da Nang International Marathon to be held in August
(VNF) - The 2016 Manulife Da Nang International Marathon (DNIM 2016) will take place at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Park in Son Tra District on August 6th.
The competition is expected to attract between 4,000 and 6,500 professional and amateur runners from across the country, plus local residents and international visitors to Da Nang.
The event will be jointly organized by World Marathon Tours Inc, headquartered in Houston, Texas, USA, and the Pulse Active Company. It will comprise 3 races: a full marathon (42.195km), a half marathon (21.095km), and a 5km run and walk.
Registration fee of 5km, revenue from selling souvenir shirts and donation from runners will be donated to the Danang Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin (DAVA) and 10 low income families.
There are water stations at every 2 kilometers including cold water and electrolyte drink. Four ambulances and five medic stations will be on duty along the course.
The course will be coned and clearly marked with distance kilometer markers. There will be volunteers and police officers at most intersections.

The Marathon is the first professional Marathon in Vietnam certified by IAAF - AIMS (International Association of Athletics Federations and Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).
The race is one of the most exciting experiences taking into consideration the attainments of physical fitness, rare view of multiple beautiful sceneries and memorable exploration of monumental sites.
