Speaking about the series of Ao Dai - Vietnamese cultural heritage, the well-known designer Minh Hanh said: "When the outbreak of COVID-19 broke out, we had more time to prepare because we delayed the performance date."

In order to affirm and honor the value of the Ao Dai in social life and promote the value of Vietnamese cultural heritage, Central Vietnam Women's Union coordinating with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a series of Ao Dai events - Vietnam's cultural heritage.

The event brought together 20 designers in the country such as Chu La, Hung Viet, Nhi Hoang, Lan Huong, Tran Thanh Man, Phuong Thanh, Trinh Bich Thuy, Ha Duy, Tran Thien Khanh and Vu Tran Duc Hai, Cao Duy, Minh Minh, Cong Huan, Chung Nguyen, Thanh Thuy, Ngoc Han, Cao Minh Tien, Hue Thi, Minh Hanh. These names will introduce 20 unique collection of ao dai inspired by 20 Vietnamese cultural heritage models.

Considered to be one of the most frantic outfits, the designers will tell the story of the long dress on the idea of the journey of heritage from the North to the South.

The immortal love and enthusiasm of the designers for the ao dai will be shown in the performances at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam - Hanoi, Thua Thien - Hue, Hoi An Memory Cultural Park, Buon Me Thuot City, Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Ninh Kieu - Can Tho.

At present, associations of 64 provinces and cities have been preparing for this campaign because of the pride and desire of honoring Ao Dai, in the spiritual life of Vietnamese and to be recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of humanity.

There will be more than 200 models and 300 professional actors, the women force is estimated that up to 5.000 Women's Union members in the provinces will perform the event to honor the Ao Dai from March to October 2020.

Specially, designer Minh Hanh, who is assigned to be the General Director of the Ao Dai performance program - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage. She is the person who is known not only as a designer but also had a daring idea 20 years ago when she proposed to organize the first Ao Dai Festival on Truong Tien Bridge at Hue Festival 2000.

"I am really satisfied with the contributions of the fashion designers, although with very difficult topics, the collections have depicted the beauty of Vietnamese heritage through the ao dai with experienced tactics in handling. Traditional silk and brocade materials combined with hand embroidery techniques and advanced printing technology. I feel that the designers are eager to protect the ao dai as their own country. All the stages for performing the Ao Dai will be famous relics. We choose places with historical marks of provinces and ao dai that appear as an indispensable part of daily life", said designer Minh Hanh.

Previously, according to the Central Vietnam Women’s Union, the above events are aimed at contributing to preserving and promoting the national cultural values, confirming the cultural identity through Ao Dai, and at the same time towards the recognition of Ao Dai is a national intangible cultural heritage./.
