Highlighting the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) that has become effective, the Deputy Minister suggested the two sides join hands with each other in order to optimise the benefits brought about by the deal, thus boosting the bilateral economic and trade ties.
Vietnam will continue its close coordination with Finland and other international partners, he affirmed.
Dung expressed his belief that the two countries will overcome challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic together, towards a brighter cooperation future.

In his remarks, Finnish Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto described the gathering as a demonstration of Vietnam’s success in containing the pandemic, saying Hanoi is among very few places in the world where Finland’s Independence Day was marked in-person.
Echoing Dung’s view, the ambassador emphasised the fine relationship between Vietnam and Finland, and attributed the result to contributions of the Vietnamese community in the European country.
Vietnam is a gateway for Finland to develop its relations in Southeast Asia, especially this year when the country assumes the ASEAN Chairmanship, he affirmed.
Finland has paid due heed to the EVFTA and wished to enhance trade ties through the pact, the ambassador said./.
