U Minh Ha National Park with an area of 8.527,8 ha was established on January 20, 2006, within the boundaries of 4 communes in 2 districts of Tran Van Thoi and U Minh, Ca Mau provinces. Located in the west of Ca Mau province, it takes more than 30 minutes to drive by car for tourists to reach the national park.

Plants here are most typical of melaleuca and vines. The animal system is relatively rich with the species of copper fish, python, snake, monkey, deer, boar, etc. It’s a great idea place for enthusiasts and adventurous travelers.

On May 26, 2009, U Minh Ha National Park was recognized by UNESCO as one of the three core zones of the Cape Ca Mau World Biosphere Reserve.

The flora and fauna system here is extremely rich and diverse, including 250 plant species, 182 bird species, 20 reptile and amphibian species, 40 mammal species, and many other insect species. There are many others that are recorded in the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

The people living in U Minh Hạ Forest have occupations related to the forest such as raising bees, fishing, catching eels, and planting fruit trees. They are very protective of their home. From the forest gate (Vo Doi hamlet, Tran Hoi commune, Tran Van Thoi district), the road is smooth and clean, leading visitors through the observation deck up to 24 meters high. Especially under the forest canopy, bees are diligently throughout the year seeking for nectar and pollen from the indigo flower to build their nests which annually bring here large volumes of honey to residents here. Wild honey here is extremely pure and intense. Above all, it has a high nutritious quality, which can be used as medicine.

There are also around 60 kinds of freshwater and brackish water fish. Visitors can fish by themselves or ask local people to help spread the net to catch fish.
