Embassy in Brunei Hosts 2024 Homeland Spring Program for Overseas Vietnamese
The Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei on January 26 organized a Homeland Spring program for nearly 200 Vietnamese people in the country ahead of the New Year of the Dragon, VOV reported.
Opening the event, Ambassador Tran Anh Vu briefed the participants on the socio-economic achievements of Vietnam and the progress of the Vietnam-Brunei ties last year.

Accordingly, 2023 witnessed many highlights, especially the official visit to Brunei by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in February 2023, which identified priority areas for cooperation in oil and gas, chemicals, Halal industry, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
He called on the Vietnamese community in the country to continue staying united and promoting the image of the Vietnamese people and culture to Brunei and international friends.
Emphasizing the positive contributions of businesses to trade activities between the two countries, the diplomat proposed the expats further strengthen coordination, connection, and cooperation activities to enhance the role of the Vietnamese business community in the Bruneian market.

Meanwhile, Ngo Thi Mong Tuyen, representative of the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Brunei, shared her joy at the good development of relations between the two countries, creating conditions for the community to overcome difficulties and move towards a better life, as well as more stable businesses are in Brunei. In 2023, Vietnamese people are excited to participate in activities to welcome PM Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse to visit and meet the community.
Tuyen emphasized that the Community Tet event organized by the Embassy is one of the most anticipated annual activities for people to meet, exchange, share feelings, and look back to one's roots, people, and things. Vietnamese cultural values every time Tet comes and spring comes.
Participants at the event had a chance to enjoy art performances performed by expat artists and Bruneian singers in multiple languages, and traditional dishes of Vietnam.
