Exhibition, Auction of 221 Vietnamese Artworks of 20th Century Holds in Hanoi
Le Auction House organized the exhibition "Vietnamese Art of the 20th Century" and auctioned 221 works of generations of famous Vietnamese artists on March 10, at Aqua Center, 44 Yen Phu, Hanoi.
This is an activity aimed at celebrating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Indochina College of Fine Arts, now Vietnam University of Fine Arts.

More than 200 works at this auction can almost summarize a long period of Vietnamese fine art with unique works of generations of artists from the Indochina period, the Resistance period, contemporary times as well as other creative works by French artists of the same Indochina period such as Victor Tardieu, Alix Aymé, André Maire, Jules Galand, Maurice Menardeau, to name a few.
The appearance of three important quartets with pivotal contributions of Vietnamese painting at the auction can be mentioned are "Pho - Thu - Luu - Dam" (Le Pho, Mai Trung Thu, Le Thi Luu, Vu Cao Dam); “Tri - Lan - Van - Can” (Nguyen Gia Tri, Nguyen Tuong Lan, To Ngoc Van, Tran Van Can) and “Nghiem - Lien - Sang - Phai” (Nguyen Tu Nghiem, Duong Bich Lien, Nguyen Sang, Bui Xuan Phai).
In addition, works by other Indochina Fine Arts alumni such as Nguyen Van Ty, Ton That Dao, Do Dinh Hiep, Pham Van Don, Tran Van Tho, Tran Duy, Jean Vo Lang, also appeared.

In particular, the appearance of sculptor Diem Phung Thi, painters Le Ba Dang, Le Van Xuong, Nguyen Huyen, Tu Duyen, Nguyen Quang Mau, Tran Ha, Dinh Minh, Phan Dang Tri and contemporary artists emerging during and after the reform period such as Dang Xuan Hoa, Pham An Hai, Bui Huu Hung, among others.
Le Aution House organized an exhibition displaying all works participating in the auction on March 8-9, before the auction took place, for collectors to see the works directly.
The auction took place excitingly and attractively between collectors directly at the live and online auction floors with prices approaching those of international auction floors.
A highly valuable painting on the auction floor not only shows the artistic value and reputation of the author but also includes accompanying factors such as the history, origin of the work as well as archival history, the family background of the collectors are also factors that make up the value of the painting.

In recent years, paintings by famous Vietnamese artists have been sold at high prices on prestigious, international auction floors, which is a good sign for the country's fine arts industry.
