Every day, from 4AM, hundreds of fishing boat fishermen begin to gather along the coast of Tam Tien, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam. The fish market is located on the beach, about 15 km from Tam Ky city.

The market only meets in the summer and is the largest wholesale seafood market in Quang Nam province. Fishermen will set sail around 3 PM the day before and return to the shore around 3-4 AM the next day. Under the first sunlight of the new day, the beauty of workers is both simple and splendid.

Fishermen's fishing boats were brought in and hundreds of baskets of seafood were carried ashore for traders and local people to choose from. Laughing voices, greetings, and even quarrels of small traders mixed with the sound of the wind and the waves of the sea create a unique market space.

Seafood at the market is diverse with many types of fish such as goatfishes, tunas, silver pomfrets, anchovies, mullet, cods, scads, and all kinds of shrimps and crabs.

To choose the freshest and most delicious seafood, small businesses often have to compete with each other, which creates a bustling and hustling atmosphere.

To feel the rhythm of the Tam Tien fish market, tourists and local people need to come here early from 4 or 5 am in the morning, since the market will often close after a few hours.

Looking at a daily market like this, it is hard to believe, the Tam Tien market has existed for more than 15 years. In the past, this was merely a place where ships dock. Later, when the number of fishing boats increased, traders also concentrated more to create a bustling market. In the past, the main trade here was seafood. Now there is a wider variety of goods.

The fish market on Tam Tien Beach in Nui Thanh district is about 15 km from Tam Ky city. From the center of Tam Ky city, visitors take the road DT614 towards Tam Thanh Sea, then go about 7 km to the right to reach the destination.

The price of seafood at the market varies depending on the size, such as pomfret will be about 120,000-140,000 VND (US$5.08 – US$5.92)/kg, scad 50,000-70,000 VND (US$2.11 – US$2.96)/kg or squid 100,000-140,000 VND (US$4.23 – US$5.93)/kg. During holidays or when there is a shortage of seafood, the price of these types also increases.
