Football Tournament in Tokyo Raises Funds to Build Vietnamese Pagoda

16 Teams Participate in Vietnamese Football Tournament in Hiroshima, Japan |
The tournament is organized by the Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA) under the sponsorship of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.
The competition is participated by 24 teams of non-professional players of Vietnamese and Japanese, who are studying, working and living in the Land of the Rising Sun.

This football tournament is not only a sports playground to improve health but also an opportunity for young Vietnamese people living far from home to meet, exchange, and unite to help each other in difficult times in a foreign country.
Chairman of FAVIJA Do Quang Ba expressed: "Through the tournament, the Organizing Committee wants to call on the community to join hands to contribute to the project of building a Vietnamese Pagoda to realize the values: spirituality, morality, education, and goodness. Because the Pagoda is a sacred symbol deeply rooted in the hearts of the Vietnamese people since ancient times, no matter where it is, it becomes a place to educate people to have a rich spiritual life, and above all, a culture of humanity".

Attending, cheering and speaking at the award ceremony, Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan Vu Tien Han said: "The tournament achieved extremely profound humanitarian and humane values, demonstrating the spirit of national solidarity. In addition, it also left beautiful images of Vietnamese people in the eyes of the local people".
At the end of a very exciting and dramatic day of competition, the championship cup belonged to FC Real Tobama. The runner-up was FC Nippon Travel, the two third-place teams were FC ISC and FC Kizuna.

The organizers also awarded individual prizes to Pablo Miura of FC ISC for the top scorer title, Luong Huu Tuat for the best goalkeeper title and Daisuke Yuzawa for the best player title, both of FC Real Tobama.
Chairman of FAVIJA Do Quang Ba also represented the organizers to present the amount of money raised through the tournament, Yen 520.000 (about VND 100 million ) to Buddhist nun Thich Tam Tri - Chairman of the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Japan, abbot of Dai An Pagoda in Tokyo.

The four teams with the best results will also win tickets to the Vietnamese National Football Championship Cup in Japan, which will be held at the end of November in Tokyo.
