Foreign Diplomats Explore Xu Doai Culture Of Vietnam
Roreign and domestic diplomats experienced the pastoral beauty of Hanoi's western districts, bringing them closer together in the spirit of international collaboration.
The participants were Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and Minister's Wife Vu Thi Bich Ngoc, Honorary President of the ASEAN Community Women's Group in Hanoi (AWCH), Ambassadors, former Ambassadors, unit leaders in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with representatives of central and local departments, ministries, branches, Chief Representatives of international organizations, and female officers of the Diplomatic Corps in Hanoi.

With the theme “Exploring Xu Doai Cultural Space,” many unique features of Northern and Vietnamese culture have been introduced to international friends.
Xu Doai, or the western and northwestern districts of Hanoi, has been an expansive land to the west of Thang Long imperial city and is known as the cradle of ancient Vietnamese civilization. Hung King founded the country and established the capital. The region is also well-known as the motherland of many talented individuals and the guardian of numerous tangible and intangible cultural treasures. It encloses Son Tay Town and the districts of Quoc Oai, Thach That, Ba Vi, and Dan Phuong.

Here, diplomats and their families can experience and explore the culture of the Red River Delta, plant trees to contribute to preserving the ancient cultural land of Vietnam, try folk games, and immerse themselves in the Northern countryside market.
According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, culture is the soul of each nation. “I think that diplomats and their spouses will find this to be a practical and appealing playground where they can experiment, explore, connect, share, and foster global friendship and solidarity,” she said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organized many cultural exchanges and programs such as the International Culinary Festival - introducing the culinary quintessence of regions in Vietnam and the program "Tracking Vietnam's Silkworms" - exploring the flow of Vietnamese silk culture for thousands of years. Activities help international friends experience Vietnamese culture, thereby understanding and connecting solidarity between Vietnam and international friends.
This show is a nuanced fusion of six distinct facets of Tonkin culture: music and painting, peace and harmony, nostalgia, poetry, Buddhism, joy and festivities, and peace and harmony. On behalf of foreign diplomats in Vietnam, the first female Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam, Cristina Romila, said that the program helps promote the role not only of women in general but also of female diplomats. She affirmed that Vietnam has made progress in empowering and enhancing the capacity of women.
