From August 5-9, through the collaboration of the Vinh Long Union of Friendship Organizations and the Asia Exchange Association (AEA/South Korea), over 20 HUFS University volunteer students visited Hoa Tinh B Primary School in Hoa Tinh Commune, Mang Thit District. They engaged in classroom painting and gifted items to the students. The project was funded with more than 203 million VND (around 8,000 USD) from AEA's non-refundable aid.
For the sixth consecutive summer, the volunteer student group from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea has visited Vinh Long.
The students spread joy among the primary schoolers with lessons in music, science, sports, and Korean culture.
According to Euna Ko, Director of AEA/South Korea, through the initiative, AEA aims for students to acquire greater life experience and skills via a range of experiential activities. It also seeks to enhance understanding about Korea among students, teachers, and the community, thereby deepening the Vietnam-South Korea friendship.
"Over the years, my fellow students and I have been delighted to visit the schools and receive the warm welcome and genuine support from the people here."
"This is also why AEA and the schools selected Vinh Long as the location for implementing the non-project previously," stated Euna Ko.
Experiencing the delight of cultural exchange between the two countries, Kim Min Jae expressed, "While engaging in school activities, I found great joy in introducing Korean culture to the children; in turn, they taught us Vietnamese folk games. My time here was filled with laughter!"
According to the Vinh Long Union of Friendship Organizations, the non-project "Supporting exchange, giving gifts to students and renovating Hoa Tinh B Primary School (Mang Thit)" aims to create conditions to support gifts for the school's students, helping them have more joy and motivation to strive to excel in their studies; at the same time, practice more knowledge, life skills, exchange more understanding of each other's cultures through cultural exchange programs, mutual learning and diverse experiential activities during the implementation process.
